Tasting Notes: Aromas of crisp apple, stone fruit and pears. Flavors of apples. Apricot and melon lead to hints of tropical delight. This wine finishes with mineral notes reminiscent of spring rain on granite mountain tops.

Winery Info: Awen Winecraft was started in the spring of 2016 by Sean Hopkins and Tom Homewood. We produce small lots of fine wine with grapes sourced from some of southern Oregon’s finest vineyards. Our inspiration is founded in the diverse set of varietals the Rogue and Applegate Valleys excel in producing. From Rhone to Rioja, we seek to exemplify the bounty of our region. We chose the name Awen because creativity is central to what we do, both in winemaking and in our lives. We both enjoy writing and playing music on the guitar, and we fully enjoy the creative process in creating balanced, smooth and complex hand-crafted wines. We are committed to the region and local community, and source everything locally from the master growers in the area and pride ourselves on giving back to the community. We believe we are sitting in the middle of the next great wine region and are excited to become part of the story of the ‘South of Oregon.’ Working with Herb Quady, Brian Gruber, and Nichole Schulte at Barrel 42, we have bridged the gap from hobbyist to professional and are appreciative of their mentorship. We also appreciate all of the efforts of the master growers that we work with, as well as the help and feedback we have received from other winemakers. We will continue to learn, experiment and explore what the area has to offer. We hope you will enjoy the literal fruits of our labor. Drink deeply and relax.
